How to get ready before you submit your music

A clear, complete submission is easier to review and easier to promote. Here is what we look for, what to prepare and what happens after you press send. Afrobeat and Afro-fusion are familiar ground for us, but we listen to every genre.

What to prepare

  • A finished songA properly mixed and mastered recording that you made, or that you have the right to release.
  • A listening linkA link we can open without downloading anything, such as a private YouTube, SoundCloud or cloud-drive link.
  • Cover artA square image of at least 3000 x 3000 pixels, which is what most distributors require.
  • Correct creditsThe full names of the writers, producers and featured artists, spelled the way you want them shown.
  • A short bioAbout 100 words on who you are, where you are from and what this release means to you.
  • Your linksYour social media pages, streaming profiles and a working email address.

What happens after you submit

1. Review. Our team listens to your song and reads your message.
2. Reply. We answer by email at the address you gave us.
3. Agreement. If we can help, we explain clearly what is and is not included before anything is agreed.
4. Launch. We publish your release on this site and can discuss a listening party or a spot at one of our shows.

Protect your rights from day one

Agree in writing who owns what before a song is released. A simple split sheet records the share each writer and producer holds, and it prevents disputes later. In Nigeria, artists and writers can also join the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), which manages music rights collectively, and register their works. A distributor will give each release its own ISRC, the code that identifies a recording and tracks its plays.

Be realistic and stay safe

No honest promoter can guarantee streams, chart positions or viral growth, and we will not promise them. Be careful with anyone who sells guaranteed plays or followers: platforms detect artificial streams and can remove music or close accounts. Steady, genuine promotion usually works better over time.

Common questions

Do I need a finished song?
Yes. Send a finished recording, and tell us if it is part of a larger project such as an EP.

Can I send more than one song?
Yes, but please send each one with its own details so we can review it properly.
